Install & activation

Palora ships as one installer per operating system. The same binary covers the trial and the licensed plugin — there is no separate demo download.

Installing

Run the installer for your system. It places the plugin in the standard locations:

  • macOS — VST3 in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, AU in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (your own Library folder), and the Standalone app in /Applications.
  • Windows — VST3 in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. The Standalone, in C:\Program Files\Segment CPH\Palora, is optional: the compact install leaves it out. The installer needs administrator rights and a 64-bit Windows. There is no AU on Windows, and no AAX on either system.

Restart your DAW, or make it rescan its plugin folders, and Palora appears in the instrument list.

The trial

Enter your email on the Palora page and you are sent one download link for every platform. Install as above; there is no separate demo build.

The trial runs for 14 days from the first time Palora loads. Some DAWs load every plugin while scanning, so the count can start then. It is counted on your own machine. During the trial Palora is complete, and a banner shows how many days are left.

When the trial ends, Palora keeps working in Demo:

  • the sound drops out for two seconds, every 25 to 35 seconds of playing
  • presets load and play, but cannot be saved, imported, exported or organised
  • DEMO shows on the matrix

Your projects still open with their sounds intact. Installing a license ends Demo the next time Palora loads.

Activation

Palora never contacts our servers — the license check happens entirely on your machine. Activation is a file, not a key.

  1. After purchase you receive a link to download palora-license.dat.
  2. Open Palora in your DAW or as a standalone.
  3. Click the plugin title to open the info window.
  4. Drop the .dat file on the license drop zone, or click the zone to choose the file.
  5. When it says the license is installed, reload Palora.

Warning

Downloading the license file ends the 14-day refund window. If you are still deciding, the free trial is the same plugin.

The file is copied into place, and Palora is licensed the next time it loads. There is no key to type, no account to sign into, and no activation limit — install it on as many of your own machines as you use.

The license file lives at:

  • macOS — ~/Library/Application Support/SegmentCPH/Palora/license.dat
  • Windows — %APPDATA%\SegmentCPH\Palora\license.dat

Note

You can copy that file to another machine yourself instead of downloading it again. It is not tied to hardware.

Re-downloading

Sign in on the Segment CPH site with the email you used to purchase — no account needs to be created first. Your account lists each order, and you can download its license file again whenever you need it.

If something goes wrong

Palora does not appear in my DAW. Make the DAW rescan its plugin folders, or restart it. Use VST3 or AU on macOS, VST3 on Windows.

The license did not take. Drop the file on the drop zone in the info window, not on the plugin itself, and unpack it first if it came in a zip. Then reload Palora.

The sound drops out, or I cannot save presets. The trial has ended. Install your license.

A pack I copied in does not show up. Check its folder holds a pack.palorapack file. To add a pack from a file, use Import in the preset browser.
